Edukasi Pencegahan Hoaks Berbasis Literasi Digital di Desa Lubuk Gading

Abstract

The development of communication and information technology has made it easier for the public to access information, but it has also contributed to the spread of hoaxes, especially in rural areas, due to the high volume of information and insufficient digital literacy. The aim of this community service activity is to raise awareness and enhance the ability of the residents of Lubuk Gading Village to select and verify health information circulating on social media. The activities were carried out through educational outreach, digital literacy training, and interactive discussions. The results show that the community has a better understanding of the importance of digital literacy in combating hoaxes. In addition, a youth community and a village social media platform were established as trusted and accurate sources of information. This activity supports efforts to develop human resources that are intelligent, critical, and adaptable to information technology.
